casual mood

My wardrobe is starting to get into the Spring state of mind, with soft colors and fun patterns. But it couldn’t be me If I didn’t wear a little black. There is something about Spring that inspires a certain lightness to dressing up. The warm weather invites a casual mood.

Nothing says casual like comfy pants like joggers. Crops tops are ideal with high waisted pants.  If florals aren’t your thing an abstract pattern can be a good substitute. Want to dress up your look a little? Heels do the trick.

Have fun dressing up.

festival guide

Where does everyone join together to listen to a great line up and are decked out in their boho best? Coachella, where “Festival Fashion” is so fun!

That is why I’m so excited to wear my new slit top from Charlotte Russe Plus. Yes! Charlotte Russe finally has a plus size line. I’m so excited! I thought this top with the slit in the middle would be fun for a chic boho look. It creates a gorgeous and flowy silhouette.  Paired with distressed shorts, a floppy hat, and laced up boots you have a cool boho outfit.

Keep an eye out for a follow up post.  I will show a different way to rock this cool top.

a mad hatter

No surprise here is another look with a slit accent. I can’t get enough of them. They are fun, flirty, and sexy.

I recently died my hair red. So, I wanted an outfit that would complement my new do. An all black outfit was perfect especially to this event, A Mad Hatter Tea Party. Ladies dressed in black, white, or purple, and of course a hat! I wanted to have fun with my hat, so I decided on a retro turban. With a black maxi skirt,  transparent top, and a statement necklace, I pulled out of my closet a fun and retro look. I love that the simplest items can turn a modern outfit into a vintage inspired look.

staying neutral

If you would raid my closet. You would find that my closet is mostly cream, white, and black colors. Neutrals are colors you can wear with anything and the best way to build your wardrobe.

As Spring is upon us. It’s time to whip out your pastels, floral and light weather jackets. Which,  neutrals colors are perfect to mix with.

Lately, I’ve had a love for slits. This high-slit layered top is no exception. It’s comfy and stylish. Paired with faux leather joggers you have a classy but edgy outfit. Also, try pairing this top with jean shorts or a long maxi skirt. Complete your look with cool accessories. Make a statement with dark metal jewelry and cutout booties.

custom made

The weather has been odd in LA. One day I’m searching for my umbrella then the next it’s sunny and warm. Reminding me that spring is just around the corner. I can’t wait!

It was nice and sunny just the other day perfect to wear my new skirt from eShakti. I love that my new poplin skirt was made special for me.  It fits like a glove.

Don’t you hate when you buy something that doesn’t fit just right? eShakti is a fashion design company that makes custom clothing for sizes 0-36. They provide both custom size and custom style too! They had many beautiful and fashionable pieces to pick from. The customization was easy too! I loved my experience with eShakti.

too pure to be pink?

When I draped this jacket over my shoulders I pictured the pink ladies from Grease.

“To act cool, to look cool, and to be cool. Till death do us part, think pink.” The Pink Ladies Pledge.

I had a lot of fun picking out this outfit, channeling Sandy.  As we get closer to spring I’m starting to see more pastel colors.  Why not wear a spring color during winter? This jacket is my must have between seasons,  it’s a pastel pink for spring but keeps me warm for the rest of winter. The color is eye-catching especially, paired with an all black outfit underneath.
